Amazing Hifz al-Quran Stories To Tell Your Children

There are many stories we see of young children having memorised the Qur'ān. They make great headlines. In the recent months, I've been spending a lot more time in the Madrasah environment and amongst the many things that's lacking is great storytelling.

So today, I have a special treat for you! I want to share some stories of children that have memorised the Qur'ān in remarkable circumstances. These stories are meant to be read aloud to your own children, creating a wonderful experience that will inspire and captivate their young hearts. I have written them in a way that they can easily be narrated to them.

I hope you enjoy each story and that they inspire your children. I want you to gather around, and let the tales begin!

Why storytelling stories of those that have memorised is important

But before we get into them, let me remind you of the benefits of sharing such stories.

Storytelling has been a cherished tradition throughout history, passing down wisdom, values, and inspiration from one generation to another. When it comes to sharing stories of children who have memorised the Qur'ān, there are countless benefits for your little ones:

  1. Inspiring Dedication: These stories will ignite a sense of awe and admiration in your children's hearts as they witness the dedication and perseverance displayed by their young peers. They will learn that with determination and hard work, they too can achieve great things.
  2. Love for the Qur'ān: By listening to these stories, we hope children will develop a deep appreciation and love for the Qur'ān. They will understand that the Qur'ān is not just a book, but a treasure to be cherished, memorised and lived, carrying within it the guidance and beauty of the Words of Allāh.
  3. Moral Lessons: Each story carries its own moral lesson, teaching children important values such as resilience, faith, kindness, and the power of belief in oneself. Through these tales, children will learn valuable life lessons that will shape their character and guide them on their own journey of self-discovery.
  4. Cultural Connection: Sharing stories from different cultures and backgrounds fosters a sense of inclusivity and understanding. These stories will expose your children to the rich Islamic heritage and the diverse journeys of young Huffāz from around the world, creating a deeper connection to their own Muslim identity.
  5. Strengthened Family Bonds: As you read these stories aloud to your children, you create precious moments of togetherness. The shared experience of storytelling strengthens the bond between parents and children, nurturing a love for learning and fostering a sense of security and belonging within the family unit.

So, let's get into some stories. Everyone of these stories are based on real stories and I've tried to put them into narrative storytelling. If you're interested in improving them and want to explore working together on this, please don't hesitate to contact me.

The Amazing Adventures of Little Abdul 'Aziz and the Quran

Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there lived a little boy named Abdul 'Aziz. He was a special child who had a great love for the Qur'ān. From the time he was a tiny tot, he would listen to the beautiful words of the Qur'ān on the radio, his phone, and even watch videos that showed the Qur'ān's teachings.

Abdul 'Aziz had something called Autism Spectrum Disorder, which made some things a little more challenging for him. But that didn't stop him from embarking on an incredible journey. You see, as he grew older, Abdul 'Aziz did something truly magical—he memorised the entire Qur'ān!

His dad, Mr. Hakami, was amazed at Abdul 'Aziz's talent. He believed that it was a special gift from Allāh. Even when Abdul 'Aziz was very little, he would sing the call to prayer, the Adhān, when he was happy or upset. It was as if the beautiful words of the Qur'ān touched his heart in a special way.

Abdul 'Aziz was now a 14-year-old boy, studying in middle school. Every night, he would fall asleep while listening to a famous Qur'ān reciter. But whenever the recitation stopped, he would wake up, feeling a bit grumpy. You see, he loved the sound of the Qur'ān so much that he couldn't bear to be without it.

One day, Abdul 'Aziz's family realised that he had memorised many parts of the Qur'ān all on his own. They decided to take him to a special Qur'ān class, where he amazed his teacher by reciting not just a few parts, but the entire Qur'ān! The teacher was in awe of Abdul 'Aziz's incredible memory and deep love for the Qur'ān.

News of Abdul 'Aziz's talent spread far and wide. The "Ludun" Charitable Association, which helps children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, heard about him. They organised a special competition for children like Abdul 'Aziz, who had unique talents. It was a chance for him to shine even more brightly.

More than 200 children took part in the competition, and Abdul 'Aziz was one of the brightest stars. He wowed everyone with his beautiful recitation, his melodious reading, and his confident speaking. The Association was so impressed with his talents that they decided to support him even more.

They planned to record Abdul 'Aziz's voice and play it on the radio during the holy month of Ramadān. Can you imagine? Little Abdul 'Aziz's voice filling the airwaves, inspiring children everywhere to love the Qur'ān just as much as he does!

And that's not all. After Ramadān, they would record the entire Qur'ān recited by Abdul 'Aziz, so everyone could listen and learn from his amazing talent. They would also create special websites and social media pages so that children from all around the world could discover the magic of 'Abdul 'Aziz's voice.

So, my dear friends, let us join 'Abdul 'Aziz on his incredible adventure—a journey filled with love for the Qur'ān, dedication, and the power of believing in oneself. Just like the characters in our favourite stories, 'Abdul 'Aziz reminds us that even with challenges, we can accomplish extraordinary things. Let the power of the Qur'ān guide our hearts and inspire us to embark on our own amazing adventures!

Hussein, the Little Radio Qur'an Hero

Once upon a desert day,
In Jeddah, a vibrant city far away,
Lived a special boy named Hussein,
Whose heart was filled with a unique refrain.

You see, Hussein was just five years old,
And though his eyes were blind, we're told,
He embarked on a remarkable quest,
To memorise the Qur'ān, the very best.

From a tender age, he loved to hear,
The soothing words that filled his ear,
His dad, Mr. Tahir, knew what to do,
He bought a radio for Hussein, it's true.

Tuning it to a Qur'ān station each day,
Hussein listened closely, come what may,
Little did they know, that simple radio sound,
Would make his Qur'ān memorisation abound.

For three long years, a secret it remained,
Hussein's radio journeys, beautifully sustained,
Until one day, they moved to Madina's land,
And a remarkable event was about to be planned.

Yearning to visit the Prophet's Mosque,
Hussein asked his dad, not wanting to be a loss,
But Mr. Tahir, with a twinkle in his eye,
Challenged his son, a surprise in the sky.

"Recite Surah Al-Baqarah," his father proposed,
Thinking Hussein would stumble and be opposed,
But our little hero, full of determination and might,
Recited the entire Surah, shining ever so bright!

News of Hussein's wondrous feat,
Spread like wildfire through the desert's heat,
Teachers and scholars came from near and far,
To witness this miracle, like a shining star.

They examined him closely, one and all,
And realised Hussein had answered the call,
Memorising the Qur'ān, a remarkable goal,
With his heart and soul, he reached the whole.

To the Prophet's Mosque, he was led,
A special circle for blind children, it said,
There, he polished his recitation's flow,
And learned Arabic, a language to know.

Through his journey, Mr. Tahir's heart swelled,
His son's accomplishments, like stories they compelled,
He thanked Allāh, prayed for patience anew,
Dreaming of Hussein's future, a shining debut.

And so, Hussein, the little radio Qur'ān hero,
Inspired the world, his story a powerful arrow,
A tale of resilience, faith, and the skies,
That miracles can bloom when hearts arise.

Now, children far and wide, let's cheer,
For Hussein, the little hero, so dear,
His story teaches us to reach for the stars,
And that faith can guide us, no matter who we are.

Ali and His Wise Grandfather

In a cozy farmhouse, nestled far away,
Lived an old man and his grandson, Ali, they say.
Each morning, the grandpa would rise with the sun,
To work on the farm, a day's work to be done.

Ali, a young lad, cherished his grandpa dear,
And always admired him, that much was clear.
Before starting his chores, the old man would pray,
Reciting verses of the Qur'ān, welcoming a blessed day.

One day, young Ali approached his grandpa with care,
"Dear Grandpa," said Ali, "I want to share,
I try my best to memorise the Qur'ān, you see,
But when I review what I've learned, it slips from me."

The wise old grandpa looked around and then,
Spotted a worn-out basket, used now and then.
He asked Ali, "Please fetch water from the river's brink,
And fill this basket, my boy, without a single blink."

Off went Ali, eager to fulfill the task assigned,
To the river he went, with a purpose in his mind.
He filled the basket with water, oh so grand,
But as he returned, the water slipped through like sand.

The grandpa chuckled, seeing Ali's surprise,
He said, "My dear boy, look into my eyes.
I want you to fetch water once more, my dear lad,
But hurry back quickly, so the water won't run bad."

Ali, as always, obeyed his wise granddad,
He filled the basket again, without feeling sad.
He hurried back swiftly, with all his might,
But alas, the water escaped, just like a flight.

Once more, the grandpa asked Ali, "My son,
Go fill the basket with water, it must be done.
But this time, my dear, hasten back to me,
So the water will stay and our goal we can see."

"I understand," Ali said, his eyes shining bright,
He filled the basket again, with all his might.
He rushed back faster than ever before,
And to his grandpa, he reached the farmhouse door.

The grandpa smiled warmly, with wisdom in his voice,
"My dear Ali, you have made a wonderful choice.
Look closely at the basket, both inside and out,
Before you poured water, it was filthy, no doubt."

"But look at it now, clean and bright,
Just like your heart, my dear, in Allāh's sight.
Every time you recite the Qur'ān with love,
Your mind grows sharper, like a soaring dove."

"You understand the verses, their meanings unfold,
You recite with precision, your heart pure and bold.
So, my dear Ali, never give up, my young friend,
Keep striving, keep trying, until the very end."

And from that day forward, Ali's determination grew,
He embraced the Qur'ān, his faith shining through.
With each verse he learned, he felt a sense of pride,
Becoming a guardian of the Qur'ān, standing tall and wide.

Khalid and His Mother: Preserving the Amazing Qur'ān

Once upon a time, in a land not too far away, there lived a little boy named Khalid. Khalid was a curious and kind-hearted child who loved exploring and learning new things. He had a big smile that could brighten anyone's day.

One sunny morning, Khalid's mom, Fatima, called him over and said, "Khalid, my dear, come sit with me. I want to share something very special with you." Khalid eagerly joined his mom and asked, "What is it, Mom? I'm so excited!"

Fatima held a beautiful Qur'ān in her hands and said, "Khalid, this is the Qur'ān. It's Allāh's special book, filled with wisdom, guidance, and beautiful stories. I want us to read and learn from it together."

Khalid's eyes sparkled with curiosity. He asked, "Mom, why is the Qur'ān so special? Can I understand it too?"

Fatima smiled warmly and replied, "Oh, my dear Khalid, the Qur'ān is special because it is Allāh's words. It teaches us how to be good and kind, how to help others, and how to live a happy and fulfilling life. And yes, even children like you can understand it. We will start by learning some verses together."

Every day, Khalid and Fatima would sit together, their hearts filled with love for Allāh and His words. Khalid would listen attentively as Fatima recited verses from the Qur'ān, her voice soothing and gentle. Khalid was fascinated by the beautiful words and the messages they carried.

One day, as Khalid was playing with his friends, he overheard them talking about a special trip their teacher had planned. Excitedly, Khalid ran home and exclaimed, "Mom, my friends are going on a trip with the teacher! Can I go too?"

Fatima gently held Khalid's hand and said, "My dear, the teacher wants us to recite some verses from the Qur'ān to join the trip. Let's practice together, and I know you can do it."

Khalid felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. He practiced with his mom every day, reciting the verses aloud. Sometimes, he stumbled over the words, but Fatima always encouraged him and said, "You're doing great, Khalid! Keep trying, and soon you'll recite them perfectly."

Finally, the day of the recitation came. Khalid stood before his teacher, feeling a little nervous. With a deep breath, he recited the verses he had learned, his voice filled with sincerity and love for Allāh. The teacher listened intently, her eyes shining with pride.

After Khalid finished, the teacher clapped her hands and said, "Well done, Khalid! You have shown dedication and love for the Qur'ān. Although the trip is already full, I promise there will be more opportunities for us to celebrate your progress."

Khalid felt a mixture of joy and disappointment. When he reached home, he shared the news with Fatima, his voice tinged with a hint of sadness. Fatima hugged him tightly and whispered, "Khalid, my dear, remember that the real reward is not in the trip but in the knowledge and love you have gained for the Qur'ān. Allāh is always watching over you and is proud of your efforts."

With renewed determination, Khalid continued to read and learn from the Qur'ān. He understood that the true joy came from seeking Allāh's pleasure and guidance. Khalid and Fatima embarked on a beautiful journey together, discovering new verses, discussing their meanings, and strengthening their bond as mother and son.

And as Khalid grew older, he became a beacon of light, sharing the wisdom of the Qur'ān with others and spreading kindness wherever he went. The words of the Qur'ān had become a guiding star in his life, illuminating his path and filling his heart with love and peace.

May Allāh make you from the people of the Qur'ān and bless your efforts.
